Roommates: Helping you find solace in “Burpees”

Hey friends, I’m on a roommate love high. I’ve  got a great set right now, that’s not to say  I haven’t had some winners in the past (you know who you are , Mom & Dad*), but these girls are perfect for me right now. For the purpose of this blog I shall refer to them as Teach*, Character* and Martha*. We are all distinctly different, but the combination works as there seems to be no shortage of laughter and or fun adventures. One recent adventure involved a trip to a Rave in the back of the UHAUL*. Character and I*  were the ringleaders on this one, as Teach and Martha but up a bit of a fight since they thought we should be “responsible” and get some sleep to meet the work/school/class/life demands of the next day. Alas they came around, with the caveat that we had to be home in an hour (the Rave in a UHAUL was a 10min drive), well FOUR hours later, FOUR, I pulled into the driveway thinking what have I done? Don’t get me wrong, totally worth it, it made a memory, and I love making memories, but I remember distinctly thinking that Teach and Martha are dangerous- you know the fun kind of dangerous where time restrictions are thrown out the window when they are on a ”good time” high.
Granted I don’t want you to think that these girls are all shenanigans without substance, because they are all equally ambitious, loving, and spiritual a perfect example of what “Sisters in Zion*” should be.  They know when to support, chide, build you up, remind you of your priorities, poke fun, and let you know that Ryan Gosling loves you via daily messages taped to your door. They also know how to cajole you in to a 6am to workout* via a Beyonce dance mix, hence the burpees reference. So grateful for these ladies…

“Mom & Dad”- Totally kidding, I have other great roommates outside of my parents.

“Teach”- She’s filled with great one liners, she also knows how to reign me in…a necessary trait in a roommate as I can be a handful.

“Martha”- I am openly jealous of her creativity, this girl can sew like no other. She helped make my dream of gray chevron curtains a reality, and for that I will love her always.

“Character”- my late night partner in crime. Sometimes we turn hymns into Reggae songs…it’s great, trust me, as you’ll probably never hear them. I’ll make sure of that.

“Rave in a UHAUL”- The most creative dance party I have ever been to. IT WAS AMAZING. Thanks to MQC for putting this together!

“Sisters In Zion”- It’s a Mormon Hymn, and it’s early so I’m prone to the cheesey.  I know I can’t believe I put that in there either…but just go with it.

“6am Workouts”- Today was day one. I’ll let you know how this goes…
